Steve and Caroline approached us in September 2022. Their new build development comprised of lawn and hawthorn hedging.
Objectives
- Remove all hawthorn hedging and create flower beds around the perimeter
- Install herbaceous borders with year round colour
- Plant trees for privacy
- Maintain the garden going forward
Our Creation
- In the centre of the scheme we positioned a seating area with trellis and climbing roses
- Corten steel edging used around the seating area and flower beds
- For winter interest helleborus, heuchera cyclamen and primrose. Evergreen shrubs such as pittosporum tobira, euonymus green spire and choisya Aztec pearl. Grasses and ferns included asplenium, stipa and briza media
- For summer interest roses, lavender, agapanthus, digitalis, verbascum, anemone and erigeron
- For privacy two flowering cherries and two pears. Each species chosen because of the limited height it will reach
