Last month we completed a driveway and front garden renovation. The existing tarmac had disintegrated throughout the driveway. An economical solution involved removing this, adding additional subbase and a top coat of gravel. The sandstone brick edge adds a decorative and practical element to retain the gravel. We also installed new turf, laurel hedging, trees and sleepers. Thanks to @lsdpaving @elliotts_builders_merchant @new_forest_aggregate_ltd @newforestturfsupplies @ornamentaltreesltd for the materials
We renovated this driveway and parking areas in July. The total space was over 400m2. We began by widening the original driveway and then installed sandstone bricks along the edge. Our top coat is a self binding gravel mixture, which is commonly used throughout The New Forest. Thanks to @new_forest_aggregate_ltd for numerous deliveries.
This raised bed area had fell into disrepair. After not being used for many years, the area was blanketed in waist high weeds. We suggested to the client removing all material and starting again. The new treated timber, compost and gravel provide a functional area which can be used immediately for all of their growing needs.
Excited to share a snippet of our latest project. We transformed a 1000m2 area from a jungle into a beautiful landscape. Elements include a wildlife pond, circular deck, sandstone boulder walkway, corten edged path and a great selection of deer resistant plants. Thanks to @elements_aquatics for the pond, @core_lp for the steel edging, @mbwilkes_quarry for the boulders, @elliotts_builders_merchant for numerous materials and our crew for their stamina. Now onto the Thatchers.
A project we completed in February. Features include: corten steel edging, self-binding gravel, timber arches and herbaceous borders.

Six weeks since a major lawn refurbishment. The lawn had a serious amount of moss at the back of the garden and weeds throughout. In addition there was a large dip above the soak away. We’ve switched over to using a fine compost for our top dressing. Previously we used a top soil. Although significantly more expensive, germination was notably quicker with our compost, after just one week. On our September lawn restoration I’m planning to use an all in one moss killer, weed killer and pre-seed fertiliser from @thegrasspeople
One of our most rewarding projects to date. The pond area and bank was completely overgrown and initially a daunting task. Once we cleared the vegetation, our designer was able to come up with a plan which worked with the existing boulders, gradient and south facing position. The team worked incredibly hard to lift each boulder out and reset, grade the bank, plant up, weed membrane and finish with green slate. Will hope to share further photos once the plants establish.

Thank you to @brookhillvineyard for their continued custom and enthusiasm

A highlight of our year is seeing the foxgloves in our client Doug’s garden. Doug is a very keen gardener himself, so it’s a delight to say they are the most spectacular of all the gardens we work in. #digitalis #foxglove
We are delighted to announce that we have been rated #1 in the New Forest for our landscaping and gardening services. Thank you to all of our team for their hard work and for our customers leaving such positive reviews. After every project we complete, the first comment is always: you have such delightful staff working for you.
We are enjoying working for a new corporate client in the New Forest. We’ve been cutting the formal lawns over the last two months. Now after some drier weather we’ve pushed our Honda mowers to their limits cutting the lower meadow. We thank the Japanese for their robust manufacturing and @christchurchgardenmachineryltd for the maintenance
One of our favourite lawns. We religiously maintain this lawn throughout the year. Our schedule includes weekly mowing, lawn feed four times a year and spraying weeds as required. In previous years it was maintained by a lawn care company, at a very significant cost. Over the last 18 months we’ve taken this in house as part of regular garden maintenance. The result speaks for itself. Feed and seed provided by @thegrasspeople
We enjoyed switching out these rotting sleeper steps to corten steel. A lot of customising of the steel lengths to make them fit our requirements. At £100 a length, the pressure was on the angle grinder operator…
A full overhaul of a rear garden in Alderholt, which was previously a parking area. To make the space both beautiful and functional, we moved the shed, dug up the old driveway, turfed, installed a patio and pergola and finished it off with herbaceous borders.
This overgrown pond area was a challenge to work with. The boulders weighed between 100-200kg, which were fun to lift on a 30 degree slope... With a happy client and proud team, it was all worth it.
We have been working with this client to make the garden easier to manage. This garden had become too overgrown for our client to look after, so we decided to start from scratch. We are very relieved we put weed membrane under the forest bark. Bind weed appeared throughout the beds within a week of clearing them out.
A look back to earlier in the year. This garden is a hidden gem and the photos only show a small selection of the garden.
A tranquil setting for a stay in the New Forest. We keep the grounds of this Airbnb accommodation beautiful all year round.
Thoroughly enjoyed turning this jungle into a useable and beautiful garden space. Features include: sleeper retaining wall, corten steel edging, fruit orchard, multiple flower beds.
One of our favourite gardens to maintain. Full of beauty, nature, timeless features and tranquillity.
We are excited to share a selection of photos from a project we completed earlier this year. Being so close to the water table and during a rainy April certainly brought some challenges, but we feel it was all worth it.

Thanks to everyone involved and @penbphotos for the pictures.
We recently worked with @sylvestris.studios to capture the beauty of our gardens. This garden perfectly reflects our personal tastes. Traditional hard landscaping elements balanced with a mixture of formal garden and natural areas for wildlife.
Teaser snap before the grand reveal of a project we completed in April. Full photos landing next month. @elements_aquatics @lambertandsondevelopments @mandy.whittle.71
We enjoyed bringing some character to a new build development in Sandleheath. Six months between these photos, yet it now looks like a mature garden.
Excited to share this front garden modification. New additions include: entrance and parking area, brick edging, 5ft high feather edge fence, euonymus kathy hedge, new lawn, perennial flower area and shrub area. Thank you to all staff involved from design through to installation. Thanks to @new_forest_aggregate_ltd @wolvercroft @heywoods_hire @sherborneturfdorset

Rear garden to follow next month
A nice project to carry out during winter. New compost bin bays installed with moveable slat fronts.
We enjoyed this quick turn around project in Fordingbridge. The client approached us after becoming fed up with their hard to maintain front lawn, destroyed by this years drought. Our solution was to use existing plants in the surrounding bed, encase with brick edging and finish off with Cotswold gravel.
Fresh trim to complement this lawn refurbishment. 6 weeks between photos. The lawn took a beating over summer and was full of dead grass and yarrow weed. Our process involved an initial weed kill, followed by scarifying, reseeding, top dressing and fertilising. #greenvelvetseed
Popped over to help an existing client today. Good chance to take a photo and compare to a year ago.

It's a common problem we are approached with. An "older" couple with a garden they are unable to look after by themselves. We help with the physical elements involving machinery, ladders and digging. As well as cutting back on this project we also installed some wooden edging to formalise the beds and laid some forest bark to suppress weeds.

We also did a lawn refurb earlier this year. Sadly I don't have the photos to show just how many bare patches there were.
It's hard to capture just how overgrown this garden was when we started. Half of it was hidden by rows of 7ft high shrubs. By removing these and replacing with herbaceous planting schemes, the whole garden can be fully appreciated.

We particularly like the use of majoram and thyme, rather than only lavender. It gave a great contrast of colours.

Rebuilding the collapsed wall with existing bricks from the garden was a rewarding challenge. Shout out to @mark_holland213 for his inspiring patience.

Thanks to @plantsfortrade for sourcing the plants and @brandon_hire_station for the much needed stump grinder.
Pleased to receive an update from a customer, who we installed raised veg beds for earlier in the year. #5aday #mushroomcompost
Six week lawn transformation for one of our commercial clients. Scarifying, reseeding and top dressing. Thanks to @plantsfortrade for the seed and our team for shifting 6 tonnes of top dressing soil
We enjoyed helping our long term client install this feature path during 2022. Elements include: galvanised steel edging, self binding gravel and 100mm x 100mm posts. The client added some fab planting touches including verbena, digitalis and Erigeron
After starting this project back in March, we are delighted to finally share with you this year's planting schemes for a new client. Shout out to @plantsfortrade @wolvercroft @paramountplants for the plants
Hedge cutting season is in full swing @stihl
Fresh lines to complement the recently installed planting scheme @honda
Quick turn around on this one day project in Fordingbridge. We helped the client bring this garden under control by trimming overgrown shrubs, removing all weeds underneath them and covering with Forest bark. The former flower bed is now restored and ready for planting. Thanks to @wolvercroft for the constant bark supply!
Sadly didn’t catch a before picture from this planting scheme for our commercial customer. The space was previously overtaken by ash saplings, dead box hedging and some mahonia. We tidied it up with a mixture of small shrubs and Cotswold gravel. Thanks to @plantsfortrade and @suttles_group
A 50% hedge reduction to make this hedge more manageable for the customer in the future.

One of our favourite beds for mature Agapanthus 🙂
#agapanthus
Great work by the team laying new weed membrane and forest bark. This are will now require a lot less maintenance. Thanks to @plantsfortrade and @wolvercroft for the short notice supply of bark and membrane
We are enjoying working for a new client near Lyndhurst, New Forest. A great variety of herbaceous plants and shrubs.
It’s amazing what some English lavender and cotswold gravel can achieve
A complete facelift by our team. We came up with the design and followed up with the installation.
Some lower back stamina was put into this one day transformation by our employee Mark. 12 tonnes of gravel shifted. 💪
Before and after photos of a spring lawn treatment in Fordingbridge. Scarify, top dress, reseed, fertilise and water :-)
Pre-heatwave lawn cut in Damerham
As the Foxgloves begin to finish, the poppies are starting to appear :-)
One of our favourite locations.
