Client
First time buyers, Louise and Nick, approached us in January 2021 to overhaul their garden.
Objectives
- Remove existing pond frame and fill in the remaining hole
- Move shed to the other side of the garden so they could use the existing concrete base as a seating area and capitalise on the sunny location
- Add areas for growing vegetables, fruit and herbs
- Add diverse, all year-round colour
- Install a path to the bottom of the garden
- Enhance the quality of the lawn
Our Creation
- Cotswold gravel path with 4in x 1in wooden edging to separate the gravel from the lawn and lavender
- Two steps with a 4in x 2in frame and Cotswold gravel infill
- Raised bed with raspberries, thornless blackberries and blueberry bush
- Raised bed with tomatoes, basil, marigold, rosemary, parsley and chillies
- Raised bed with perennial flowers including alliums, salvia and gladiolus
- Raised bed with Mediterranean herb selection and cherry tomatoes
- Border with shrub selection including camellia, photinia and pieris
- Border with fragrant David Austin rose selection
- Border with French lavender
- Border with catmint, malva, foxgloves, delphiniums and lupins
- Original cherry tree moved to rear of garden
- A formal dining area and informal seating area
- Shed moved to opposite side of garden to free up a seating area. Note the espaliered apple tree on the shed
- Painting of shed and fence
- Addition of solar lights along the path and rear of garden
